Excel Baseball Academy recently completed its inaugural season with the 15-U Excel Blue Sox team. Comprised of promising players looking to further develop their skills and play at a highly competitive level, the Blue Sox traveled across the Southeast playing in various tournaments from May until August 2009.

The 2009 Blue Sox team was coached by Matthew Maniscalco of Oxford, Todd Jones of Pell City, and Judd Edwards of Oxford.

Members of the 2009 Excel Blue Sox team included Mathew Goodson, Trey Coile, Will Davis, Adam Ballew, Tanner Gardner, and Austin Cowan, all of Oxford; Alex Jones and Cole Billingsley of Pell City; Logan Doss of Alexandria; Kyler Deese and Mitchell Roland of Auburn; and Justin Camp of Decatur.

Excel Baseball Academy is one of Northeast Alabama's only dedicated baseball and softball training facilities.
