Oxford High School standout Zach Lovvorn has committed to Samford University in Birmingham, Ala., under Coach Casey Dunn. The 6'1" 185-pound righthander has been an integral part of Excel's 16-U team, the Blue Sox.

"We're happy about Zach's commitment to Samford," said Matthew Maniscalco, co-owner of Excel Baseball Academy and Zach's summer coach. "His hard work on the mound and at the plate have paid off, and he'll be an asset to Coach Dunn and the Bulldog program."

Zach is the son of Mike and Shannon Lovvorn of Oxford. Excel would like to congratulate Zach and his family on his decision to join the Samford Bulldogs Baseball Program.
